We are the best of friends. A group of professional women who all met in our 20's when we moved away from our childhood homes. We formed our own 'tribe' in Brisbane, Australia.
And so The Urban Family was born.
We have shared the highest of highs and lowest of lows in this life together. Through it all, we have supported each other exactly like a modern day family with love, laughter and really really good champagne.
Taryn
After a career presenting and producing travel television at channels Nine and Seven in Queensland, Taryn now resides back home in Perth with her children Senaya and Milan. With her girls’ hectic dance schedules, it means holidays have to be planned around eisteddfods and concerts.
Being an outspoken advocate for Perth has meant the Urban Family has racked up some frequent flyer miles touring many wineries and beaches along the west coast.
Katrina
Along with her husband Gavin, Katrina often plans and books holidays up to two years in advance – a habit her children Stella and Zali seem to have embraced!
Twenty years running IT teams and projects has put her in good stead to keep the Urban Family on schedule when on tour! Whether the trip is low key or lavish, for Katrina it is all about the company you’re with and the memories you make…. Some of which are too crazy or embarrassing for social media!
Ally
Ally certainly enjoys the finer things in life and is happy to work for the privilege. She has two gorgeous children with her husband Billy. Lucinda is a lover of the arts and Curtis is mad about Australian Football and Basketball..
Whilst the majority of her career has been spent managing multi-site retail organisations, Ally is also an accomplished singer and singing teacher. Her real talent is showcased during the Urban Family’s annual karaoke extravaganza!
Julianne
Julianne is the superwoman of her blended family with her golf obsessed husband Chris. Together they have Archie and Mabel and she is stepmother to Campbell and Madison.
She has built a successful career in IT corporate sales over the last 23 years and continues to work full time making any time she can spend away with family and friends extremely precious. Despite her calm, relaxed demeanour, she’s scrupulous when it comes to customer service, as is demonstrated if she ever receives a luke warm coffee, undercooked eggs or sub-standard champagne!
